What can a display ad do? What can't they do?
Grow Interactive partnered with Google to launch "Watch This Space", a campaign to show off the full potential of display advertising. The ads pushed the boundaries of what was possible in display advertising on the web. This included many rich animations as well as integrating with other technologies, such as live video, data feeds and more.
Many of the rich animations pushed the limits of what was possible on the web in a banner ad. We had to optimize for performance and ensure the ads would work across all computers. The ads involved creating custom UI and interactions using Flash and Actionscript 3.
We jammed so many features into these ads and the campaign along with the ads themselves won numerous awards.
